Privacy Policy

PixelReader · Last updated: 7 July 2026

PixelReader ("we", "us", or "the app") is a personal reading-tracker application available at pixel-reader.com and as an installable app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using PixelReader, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

PixelReader is an independent project. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at noeljonathan777@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect information through Firebase Authentication (a Google service), depending on how you sign in:

Reading data

To provide the core features of the app, we store the reading information you create, including book titles, total and current page counts, reading progress and timestamps, daily goals, reading streaks, and milestones.

Notes and photos

If you add notes to a book, we store the text you write. If you choose to attach a photo to a note (for example, a picture of a page), that image is stored as part of your note. Photos are only captured when you actively choose to add one.

Book clubs

If you create or join a book club, information you contribute is shared with the other members of that club. This includes your club display name, your reading progress on the club's current book, and any notes you post to the club. Please only share what you are comfortable making visible to other members of a club you join.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, we register a device token through Pushy (a push-notification service) so we can send reminders such as reading nudges and streak alerts. You can disable notifications at any time in your device or browser settings.

Advertising

PixelReader displays ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. See section 5 for more detail and opt-out links.

3. How we use your information

4. How your information is stored and shared

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore). We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

5. Cookies and advertising

We and our advertising partner (Google) use cookies and similar technologies. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.

6. Your choices and rights

7. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your associated personal data from our active databases. Some information may persist temporarily in backups or logs before being overwritten in the ordinary course of operation.

8. Children's privacy

PixelReader is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. International users

Your information is processed and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure, which may be located in the United States or other countries. By using the app, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in these locations.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be communicated within the app.
